Re: Integrating Odoo with SAP
Hi Cyril,
we have some. Depending on the Version of SAP. Do they use
SAP ByD
SAP ERP 7
S4/HANA
Unfortunately a project (to my utter experience) doesn't become really fluent / agile once you start to integrate with SAP. The reasons are manifold but what we experienced is
1.) Most SAP Integrators don't work as agile as ist would be standard in an Odoo project
2.) The security requirements of the SAP environment slows down the process
3.) Not all potentials means of integration are alsways available (because of missing Know How and more likely missing licenses or willingness to pay them)
Nonetheless we could support and i have a large network of SAP experts here in Magdeburg that develop SAP education curriculae for 3000+ universties and education entities on the globe (though they won't have much experitse with ByD but ony with the mainline SAP product and S4/HANA)
Best Frederik

Setting up the OCA EDI-module
Hello
For a client of ours, we are looking to set-up a EDI-module to import PRICAT and DESADV files. Me and my colleagues have not the biggest experience in the EDI way of working and we wanted to test the EDI-module from OCA to see if this is the right fit for our client.
But because of the lack of experience and not a lot of documentation of the module, I can't seem to figure out on how it works. Is there someone that could help us setting this up? It's for v18.

The OCA has a new Executive Director - starting on the 17th Nov.
Hello everyone,I am very happy to share that we found our new OCA Executive Director!Julie LeBrun, who has been our Content Creator & Training Manager since February, will take the Executive Director role starting on the 17th November, just after my last week.As Julie has been around, she is aware of the current projects and initiatives, so the handover should be very smooth. We are currently working on the transfer of all information. She has been very efficient and motivated in her role inside the OCA, so I am very confident that the new role will fit her well.Congratulations to Julie! On my side, it's time to say goodbye. My last official day will be on the 13th November and in the meantime I focus on sharing as much information as possible to Julie. We are currently working on important initiatives regarding our tools (migration to v18 - bidder has been selected, improved back end linked with GitHub, a new App store where it's easy to find modules - offers are under review). And very soon... the launch of our new crowdfunding platform! Stay tuned!I thank everyone in the community for their enthusiasm, kindness and passion. It's when things get difficult that we see the true heart of the people around. I saw stubbornness, for sure, but I saw mostly a lot of love and engagement towards the open source and sharing principles.I'll be around as a "simple user" with my accounting cooperative in Belgium (yes, we have customers on CE and EE, both! - and yes, another cooperative!), and my next mission is to convince my colleagues to become OCA Sponsors and pay a membership to all our team members. That's what I expect you will all be doing as well ;-) The OCA will be what its members and supporters will give.If you'd like to keep in touch, you can find me on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/vdewulf/) and Mastodon (https://fosstodon.org/@vdew).Enjoy your week,

In warehouse dangerous goods handling
Hello, I'm looking existing work for a dangerous goods handling module within the OCA but I don't seem to find one.
I'm concerned with identifying items that require special handling and storage requirements within a warehouse, especially chemical raw materials.
For example: corrosive or explosive items, to handle with care.
Storage requirements might be to not store two "incompatible" items on the same location, or needs for special ambient conditions such as refrigeration.
I believe this matches or is close to the OSHA Chemical Storage Requirements.
I've found a couple of existing modules but they are from from meeting my needs:
- community-data-files/l10n_eu_product_adr: focus on the road transportation treaty (ADR), and I feel it is not close enough to in WH handling needs.
- stock-logistics-workflow/stock_dangerous_goods: despite the promising name, it just adds a few fields on top the the ADR module, and it still doesn't feel useful for my need.
Is there anything I am missing?
Thank you

Re: [SPAM] In warehouse dangerous goods handling
Bom dia Daniel,I use package type and storage category to manage the different types of products and where they can be put. Then I use the stock_storage_type module to manage the mapping between the two. It's available on 16.0 and 18.0. You can manage the package type at product packaging or product level. The capacity allows you to define what can be put where. The put-away sequence lets you configure the computed move line destination location. It's then up to you to properly structure your package types based on your storage rules.Kind regardsJ-ELe lun. 3 nov. 2025 à 15:11, Daniel Reis <notifications@odoo-community.org> a écrit :Hello, I'm looking existing work for a dangerous goods handling module within the OCA but I don't seem to find one.

I think they include a management system add-on for handling protocols. On Mon, Nov 3, 2025 at 2:11 PM Daniel Reis <notifications@odoo-community.org> wrote:Hello, I'm looking existing work for a dangerous goods handling module within the OCA but I don't seem to find one.

Address format in SEPA XML files
Hello OCA Contributors,
There is an ongoing change in the european regulation regarding the format of address in Sepa direct debit and Sepa credit transfer XML files. See here for the presentation of the regulation and here for the full spec.Banks in Belgium are already rejecting some XML files generated from the version 12 and 16 of account_banking_sepa_credit_transfer.
There are two possible formats : structured and hybrid. Using the structured format doesn't seem possible because it requires the street name and number to be separated. In Odoo both pieces of information are in the same field. The hybrid format should therefore be used, but from what I see, the XML files already seem to be consistent with this format.
Have you encountered the same problems ? Or do you have more information about this issue ?
Thank you and have a nice day,

Re: Address format in SEPA XML files
FWIW manually stripping <PstCd> and <AdrLine> from the XML solved this, probably forcing hybrid mode acceptance from Triodos Bank.
Looking at our own address information versus the specs provided, as being parsed in a v14 XML:
<Nm>Therp BV</Nm> <PstlAdr> <PstCd>3812 NR</PstCd> <TwnNm>Amersfoort</TwnNm> <Ctry>NL</Ctry> <AdrLine>Oude Fabriekstraat 1 2/2.14</AdrLine> </PstlAdr>
3) Under the unstructured address format, PSUs and scheme participants provide the address
of the payer and/or of the payee with a maximum of 2 occurrences of the unstructured
address element “Address Line” <AdrLine>, possibly in combination with the structured
address element “Country” <Ctry>1. [...]
Meaning we were good before...
4) The provision of a structured address about the payer and/or the payee for EPC payments
must comply with following requirements:
• Data element “Address Line” <AdrLine> cannot be used [...]
5) The hybrid address is a mix of structured and unstructured address details. It allows the
combination of structured ISO 20022 address elements and up to two occurrences of 70
characters of unstructured “Address Line” <AdrLine>. [...] The structured
elements “Country” <Ctry> and “Town Name” <TwnNm> are mandatory.Emphasis mine, and I'd say the bank is out of order for rejecting our address per 5) but I suppose standards could be giving them some leeway.

Re: Address format in SEPA XML files
Dear Victor,I was aware of this change from unstructured addresses to structured addresses in SEPA XML files, as described in the EPC specs. To anticipate this change, I worked on it in august 2024, cf this commit on account_banking_pain_base https://github.com/akretion/banking/commit/e0ccf2d734c1aaea5e26f826c030eb57d392b04fOn v16.0, structured addresses in SEPA credit transfer XML files and SEPA direct debit XML files is implemented in my "big" PR here : https://github.com/OCA/bank-payment/pull/1174I am fully aware of the problem with the separation of street name and number. I didn't want account_banking_pain_base to depend on base_address_extended, because it would be a very big impact for a very small need.My implementation strategy was the following :- if base_address_extended is installed, it use the fields added by that module- if base_address_extended is not installed, I separate street number and street name "on the fly" with code. It's not always perfect, it works most of the time and, when it doesn't work, the street number is empty and the street name has the whole street field.Cf the code :you can have a look at the method _improved_street_split() at line 99.Look at the test suite to see the result with real life content :In 18.0, it is implemented in OCA/bank-payment-alternative (which was created from my "big" PR on 16.0 #1174) :The only change is that the module account_banking_pain_base has been renamed to account_banking_sepa_base.Porting this on OCA/bank-payment should be pretty easy.AlexisLe jeu. 30 oct. 2025 à 10:27, Victor Champonnois <notifications@odoo-community.org> a écrit :Hello OCA Contributors,

Re: Address format in SEPA XML files
Hi,As far as I understand, this concerns the account payment modules of the OCA? For 16 (I haven't checked for 12), as far as I understand, the node TwnNm (City) is missing in the address block, which, according to the aforementioned EPC document, is mandatory in hybrid mode along with Ctry (Country). This means that version 16 still uses the unstructured format. The code i looked at: https://github.com/OCA/bank-payment/blob/37ed97c155bdba85b79b5a8227b76b95c6294cdb/account_banking_pain_base/models/account_payment_order.py#L530Regarding the street, i.e., the separation of name and number: in Odoo Enterprise, both (i.e., partner.street and partner.street2) are handled using AdrLine. The OCA module does this as well (except for street2) and will hopefully be processed in the same way.Best regards,ChristianVon: "Victor Champonnois" <notifications@odoo-community.org>

APPLICATIONS CLOSE 31ST OCTOBER: OCA Board Member and Financial Auditors
Hello OCA Contributors.
I have two reasons to send this email all pertaining to the OCA Annual General Assembly.Firstly, as part of the AGA we elect 3 Financial Auditors each year. The role is to audit the OCA Annual Accounts from the previous year and takes about 4-7 hours. You do not need to be a delegate or member to do this - perhaps someone within your company has the right skills and it might be a nice way for them to give back to the OCA, please feel free to share with them.- The survey to apply is here
- The deadline for applications is tomorrow 31st October
- The applicants are then voted on in the AGA starting next week
Secondly, I sent a reminder email to our delegates on the delegates mailing list yesterday that the Board Nominations are open till tomorrow 31st October as well. It appears as though the message might not have gotten through to some of the delegates, hence, I am sharing on our largest mailing list here as well in the hope it makes it through everyone.Only delegates can apply to become a board member. We actually have a few of the current board members stepping down due to personal obligations, changes in their careers, more energy needed in other areas of their businesses etc, so now is a great time to get amongst and put yourself forward.
We need a dynamic board that is a good representation of the community and we need stability from some of our existing board members but also renewal with new people and different perspectives each year to achieve this. It doesn't matter what your profile is, if you have a strong willingness to support and help strengthen and grow to the OCA we would love to hear from you. If you've been thinking about giving this a go, please feel empowered to do so.- Board Member - this is open to all 10 of the new Delegates for this year as well
The Annual General Assembly will follow next week.
Please, any questions, do get in touch.
Warm regards,
Rebecca

Help understanding “Send by Email” button visibility on invoices V18
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand why the “Send by Email” button doesn’t appear on my bills — it stays invisible regardless of their status.
I’ve checked the technical condition in the code (state != 'posted' or is_being_sent or invoice_pdf_report_id or move_type not in ('out_invoice', 'out_refund')), but I’d like to understand the functional logic — what needs to be configured in Odoo to make it visible in the standard flow?
I managed to make the “Send by Email” button visible, but I’m now facing a blocking message: “You can only generate sales documents.”
This action used to work in previous Odoo versions (it’s part of a self-billing process).
Do you have any recommendations or know if there’s a module or standard approach for handling this in Odoo 18?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Nazaire

Re: Help understanding “Send by Email” button visibility on invoices V18
Hi Nazaire,
The button (and action behind) only makes sense for Customer invoices (and refunds), which is why it is not visible for Supplier Bills (because of the move_type not in ('out_invoice', 'out_refund')).
You are supposed to receive supplier bills from your supplier, adding them in Odoo is useful for margin analysis, payment follow-up, accounting, etc. but it does not make sense to send Supplier Bill with Odoo format back to Supplier (at least in normal workflow).
Best Regards,
Rémi

HelloI think you might ask the question to Odoo's forum as it looks like a general Odoo question. But if you think it's related to an OCA module, then it's better to create an issue in the right github's repoYou might test on runbot.odoo.com for standard odoo or on runboat that you can find in any OCA'a repo.Best regards--------------------------------

Re: Migration Quality Management System module
Hello Andrea,
Thank you for your message and for your interest in the OCA’s Quality Management System module.
At the moment, the Quality Management System (QMS) modules have not yet been migrated to Odoo 19.0. Migrations are carried out progressively by community contributors, depending on available time, priorities, and sponsorship.
You can follow the migration status or contribute directly on the OCA GitHub repositories — typically under https://github.com/OCA/management-system. If your organization needs this migration soon, one option is to sponsor or financially support the maintainers to prioritize and accelerate the work.
Your support helps sustain the open-source ecosystem and ensures timely updates for everyone in the community.
Best regards,

base_custom_info
Hi community,We've been using the base_custom_info module and some of its add-ons for partners and products for several versions.
Organizations like Antiun, Tecnativa, and Moduon seem to have been using it since v8 and more.
We find the features it offers interesting (that's why we use it).
I am wondering why not available in v16 (a) and 18 :1 - due to a lack of time and interest in migrating it, OR2 - you have other options for adding simple information about partners and products(a) closed PR for 16Nouveau

Re: base_custom_info
Indeed.
It probably won't be that hard to add Properties to a model.
The hardest part fro me is to read and consume that data in your custom code.
Also not documented and requiring trial & error + reverse engineering t figure out...

Hi,
This of course begs the question how a model can be made to support Properties.
I did find out by scanning the Odoo Source tree, starting of with grepping for 'Add Properties'. Anyway it is needed to add a field.Properties field to hold the properties. To define the possible properties, you will need a PropertiesDefinition field. Look-up the source in odoo/fields.py and see example use in addons/project/models/project.task.py.
Looking at the orm API documentation, this feature is indeed totally undocumented:

Re: base_custom_info
Hi,
This of course begs the question how a model can be made to support Properties.
Looking at the orm API documentation, this feature is indeed totally undocumented:
https://www.odoo.com/documentation/18.0/developer/reference/backend/orm.html#fields
Kind regards, Ronald

Restrictions per warehouse and filtering location at reception
Hello,
We are using version 17.0 and our customer has 3 warehouses with ~300 locations each.
The 1st requirement is to resctrict Inventory User to a warehouse so they only see operation types, locations and pickings of that warehouse. Any module you would suggest? What do you use?
The 2nd one is when the Inventory User processes a reception and wants to reassign some products to a different location than the one suggested by Odoo based on the putaway rules. By default Odoo shows the whole list of locations on the popup window of the stock move of the reception. With 300 locations in the warehouse, the reception process is very cumbersome. We would like to use the storing rules to filter the list. What do you think? Any other ideas?
Thank you!

Thank you for your message.
I actually have a solution that fully addresses both of your customer’s needs on Odoo 17.
- Warehouse restriction for Inventory Users
- Filtered location selection on receptions
If you’d like, I can share a short demo or give you access to a test database to see both features in action.
Would you be open to a quick call or demo session this week?

Asunto: Re: Restrictions per warehouse and filtering location at receptionHello Maxime,
Thank you for your message.
Best regards,
Rachid AMIRI

Hello,
We are using version 17.0 and our customer has 3 warehouses with ~300 locations each.
Thank you!

The OCA will be at the Open Source Experience (Paris, 10th December): looking for volunteers on our booth
Hello OCA contributors,We have a good news to share: our request has been accepted by the Salon of the Open Source Experience event to have a booth in the Associations Village for one day (the 10th December). The event takes place in Paris, France. We are looking for a dozen of volunteers to help on the booth for the whole day (the idea is to split the day in shifts so that you can of course go and listen to conferences in parallel).📅 Save the date: December 10, 2025
The event is free: https://www.opensource-experience.com/en/
📍 Where: Open Source Experience, Paris - Adress: Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, 30 av Corentin Cariou 75019 PARISWith the booth, we have a total of 8 badges for the volunteers (we don't exactly know what it gives you in addition to a regular entry pass, maybe coffee?!). You don't want to miss that ;)If you want to join as a volunteer or know more about it, please, send an email to me or Dora who will be in Paris for the event.

Odoo in-house contributor
Hello Community,
We are a Mexican company located in Guadalajara Mexico, we manufacture and sale working uniforms.
We are currently using Odoo v15, and wanting to upgrade to 19. We are exploring the option of having an “Odoo in-house contributor” to assist with: the version upgrade including hypercare, daily support and continuous improvement.
Is there a pool of expert candidates that I could have access to?
Thanks in advance for your guidance
Regards!

Generate Readme.rst from md files with maintainer-tools
Hi everyone,
surely I'm doing something wrong but I'm not able to generate Readme.rst from readme md files, since v17.0.
I update locally the maintainer-tools repo and use the command
$>
oca-gen-addon-readme --repo-name=REPO_NAME --branch=BRANCH --addon-dir=MODULE_DIR_PATHNo error messages but no Readme.* generated.
There's a way to check/fix this?
Is it possible to update the md readme files and let something magically create the Readme.rst file in the OCA repository?
Thanks

I think I also needed Pandoc lib locally installed when faced the very issue you are talking about. On Mon, Oct 13, 2025, 8:32 AM Stefano Consolaro <notifications@odoo-community.org> wrote:Hi everyone,

Hello Stefano,In fact, if you activate pre-commit locally, this is done automatically from fragments.Le lun. 13 oct. 2025 à 14:31, Stefano Consolaro <notifications@odoo-community.org> a écrit :Hi everyone,
