You can use as well a customized Docker version thought for keeping 3 environments at the same time: development, production and staging/demo.Regards.

Docker is much easier as all needed scripts already inside. The best answer will be just to check official docs on docker hub. But there are lots and lots of videos and articles in internet https://hub.docker.com/_/odoo/
